Preconditions

Google Chrome Browser– You would be required to download the Chrome browser. The extension requires Chrome 49+.

Web Scraping Chrome Extension– This web scraping data extension can be downloaded from the Chrome Web Store. After the extension download, you will see its spider icon in the browser toolbar.

Getting the URL

H&M helps you research for products that you can screen depending on the parameters including product types, sizes, colors, etc. This scraper assists you in scraping data from H&M as per your needs. You can choose the data filters that you require and copy the corresponding URL. In this Web Scraping toolbar, you need to click on the Sitemap button, select the option called “Edit metadata’ and paste a new URL (depending on the filter) like a Start URL.

Importing H&M Scraper

After installing the extension, right-click any place on the page and choose the ‘Inspect’ option. The Developer’s Tools console will come up. Then click on the ‘Web Scraper’ tab, go to the ‘Create new sitemap’ option, and click on the ‘Import sitemap’ button. Now paste the JSON below in the Sitemap JSON box.

Running the Scraper

To run the scraper, go to Sitemap and click the ‘Scrape’ alternative from the drop-down menu. The new example of Chrome would launch, allowing the scraping to scroll and collect data. A browser will automatically close and send the notification once the extraction is completed.

Downloading the Data

To download the extracted data in a CSV file that you could open in Google Sheets as well as Microsoft Excel, go to the option Sitemap drop-down > Export in CSV > Download Now.
